Thousand Oaks: Hour 14 of 24skate#5


This year I did not do so hot. I had done a long mountain bike ride in the morning and then went surfing with my husband. Boy by the time it was time to skate, I was kind of done. Nevertheless, I did skate at 5:00 pm. Saturday June 14Th for 1 hour. The temperature was hot 81 degrees F. My 13 year old granddaughter rode her bike to pace me and I don't think I could have done it without her. She is a cheerleader so she cheered for me the whole time. She kept chanting things like, "We are proud of you, yea, were so proud of you." You can do it etc. I didn't even know she could ride that far. Anyway sorry for the excuses, I rode 6.5 miles. The good news is my pledges were not per mile but just for skating. I think the pledge total will be $150.00. Next year I will only skate on the 24 day! Also, my Granddaughter said she will pace me again.
