Munich, Germany, Hour2 #21+22 of 24skate#4
I have had a hard week and had slept not very well the night before my morning share of 24skate. My subjective feeling was confirmed by
the objective measurement of morning heart rate, which was well above the normal average. So I decided to skate with the heart rate meter
to not overdo it. The effect was that a lap on my usual training circuit on the place where the famous Octoberfest takes place each year took me
almost 10% longer than on good days at the same heart rate. But knowing that each of my kilometers would score (being the only 24skater at
that hour) kept me going round and round.

I focused on a clean technique to use my reduced power as effectively as possible and succeeded in keeping a
sufficiently steady speed of ca. 26km/h in the first hour, slightly falling back in the second (25 kilometers).
The regular strides brought me into a kind of meditating state, thinking about the inspiring emails I received some of the 24skaters, wondering
how all the 24skaters were doing, enjoying the sun becoming warmer, but not too hot. Finally the bells of the nearby church ended my
second hour at 10:00.
I did some cool-down laps and spend some more minutes to take pictures for your and my memory. Here is the result:

Thanks again to everyone who contributes to the 24skate!
Best regards
Clemens, founder of the 24skate
