Stillwater, USA, Hour#8 and #9 of 24skate#3
Skate Local Think Global
Midwest skaters participated in the Skate Around the World "24Skate"
raising funds and awareness for UNICEF. The event is a relay through
each time zone. We did Hours 8 and 9 - contributing 61.3 KM to a total
of over 500 scoring KMs.
Hour 8 Mannscaft-Kase-Esser, Bob Losby and Cheri Uehlmen, was one of
the fastest teams with a total of 32.2 scoring Kilometers. Conditions were
nice in Eau Claire, sunny and 20 degrees C.
Hour "9 Viejas Vacas Del Equipo", Arne Boberg, Dan Fischer, Bob Flemming,
and Matt McGuire started their hour blazing. With a tailwind and smooth
pavement the group maxed out at 40 Km per hour. A certain short skater
and a section of unexpected road construction slowed the group on the last
half hour, but they still finished with 29.1 scoring Kilometers.
